Itaparica Island  (Overview)

Itaparica Island is a big island close to Salvador, Bahia. It was like a favorite beach destination for people that live in Salvador (and other areas near from it), but after the development from the Litoral North, the major part of the people goes to the Litoral North, and the Itaparica Island at this time have a abandoned aspect.

The beaches on the Itaparica Island are nice and has no waves big or strong. Very good for kids or to talk with friends inside the water. Not good for surf!

Only on the summer (from december to february) travellers stay here and, on the other months only the people that live.

About the safety on the Itaparica Island, just some normal cares: don't be alone at night outside house, don't demonstrate that you have money, etc.
