Imbassai Beach, Bahia, Brazil  (Overview)

Imbassai is an interesting destination of the North Coast of Salvador-Bahia, where there is a river (of water unpolluted) in parallel with the sea, scenario that allows tourists to choose: to bathe in the sea (Imbassai Beach), to bathe in the river (named Imbassai River), to be sitting in a chair in the center and enjoy the scenery of the two (river and sea), or to be seated in a chair on the banks of the river, wet feet, taking a good drink and eating the dishes typical of the region (many of them based on fruits of the sea).

The word "Imbassai," comes from TUPI (one of the languages spoken by Brazilian Indians), and means "Way of Water".

The region of Imbassai has been developing and is very value, and there are expectations that will be developed as far as structurally Praia do Forte.

Hosting is in Imbassai (as well as Itacimirim) and go spend the night in Praia do Forte is a very common practice by tourists because it is much cheaper and distance is very small for those who are with car.

Imbassai is a district of the city of Mata de São João.

Distances:
Imbassai is located about 65Km to the international airport of Salvador and about 13Km to the Praia do Forte.
